Background
The project MSMEs Grants is contributing to the efforts of the European Union (EU) and the Government of Kosovo, namely the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), in increasing economic growth, private sector development and international trade in Kosovo, by improving the competitiveness of locally operating enterprises and strengthening their production base as well as their export readiness. The present project is also complementing a bigger action promoted by the MTI and funded by the EU in the framework of the IPA 2013 and targeting Trade and Private Sector Development, through support to trade policies, increase of Competitiveness and Export and grants to MSMEs.
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Lot 1 – Grants for Micro Enterprises
minimum amount: EUR 10,000
maximum amount: EUR 25,000
- Lot 2 – Grants for Small and Medium Enterprises
minimum amount: EUR 60,000
maximum amount: EUR 200,000
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, applicants must:
- be legal persons or be persons without legal personality such as personal business enterprise, a general partnership, a limited partnership,
a limited liability company or joint stock company
- be 100% privately owned micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (according to the Kosovo definition) registered in Kosovo
- have been operational in Kosovo for at least one year (2013) for the Lot 1 for Micro Enterprises and for at least two previous years (2012 -
2013) for the Lot 2 for SMEs
- be able to demonstrate the company’s solvency (only for SMEs under Lot 2 of the call)
- be registered for the activities envisaged by the proposed project as well as be able to demonstrate previous experience in the business
presented or related sectors
- be able to demonstrate to have operational capacity to reach the proposed production or service
- be able to demonstrate that all contributions and taxes have been settled
