Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations or other related fields
- Significant management experience, preferably in a senior level position; proven management and leadership qualities including ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different ethnical and cultural backgrounds
- Proven experience in the management of projects and budgets
- Sound knowledge of international and regional human rights standards and community rights
- Sound understanding of the main functional areas of the Mission's mandate
- Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills in English
Responsibilities
- Performs specific monitoring tasks in relation to community rights, property rights, non-discrimination issues and other human rights
concerns as assigned
- In-charge of the implementation of the monitoring instructions received from Headquarters;
- Drafts spot reports and compiles regular reports on activities of all the staff of the Department located in the Regional Centre (RC)
- Co-ordinates and co-operates closely with Field Co-ordination in the Headquarters to ensure fair utilization of capacities in the field
- Facilitates and supervises the work of all professional and support staff of the Department in the RC in close co-operation with the Senior
Democratization Officer
- Assists and co-ordinates the implementation of projects in the field
