Background
UNDP and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) are implementing the project “First Biennial Update Report (FBUR)”. The main aim of the project is to assist the country in mainstreaming and integration of climate change consideration into national and sectorial development policies by providing continuity to the institutional and technical capacity strengthening process, partly initiated and sustained by the National Communications.
Within the previous National Communication, GHG Inventory of emissions by sources and removals by sinks for direct and indirect GHGs for the period 1990-2009 was prepared, using the methodology described in the Revised 1996 Guidelines of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Within the FBUR project, a GHG inventory for 2010-2012 will be prepared and the inventory for the period 1990-2009, using new 2006 IPCC software shall be recalculated, as recommended for the developing countries.
