Background

The Aid for Trade (AfT) project focuses on concrete interventions required to improve Kosovo’s long term economic performance and its alignment with social and poverty reduction goals. People often share similar aspirations: decent employment, affordable access to basic services, and freedom in shaping their future and the future of their countries. This is the human development paradigm UNDP follows in implementing AfT project.
The key challenge this project addresses is promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth in Kosovo that creates jobs and opportunities through private sector development interventions.
Main objectives of the project are enhancement of staff capacities within the Ministry of Trade and Industry and other relevant decision-makers’ to develop and implement evidence-based and pro-poor trade policies, and provide support to SMEs operating in selected sectors in the Economic Region South in having better access to market and information and contribute to improved livelihoods.

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from non for profit organisations such as:
  - non-governmental organizations (NGO)
  - local associations
  - other civil society institutions carrying out activities that promote tourism.
All applicants should be from the Economic Region South covering municipalities of Prizren, Suharekë/Suva reka, Rahovec/Orahovac, Malishevë/Mališevo, Mamushë/Mamuša and Dragash/Dragaš. Applicants should be able to demonstrate to have operational capacity in supporting promotion of the tourism sector in the Economic Region South. The applicant will have to provide strong evidence such as relevant and professional experience in tourist related projects in order to become eligible to compete for the grant.
