Description

Remember the past, act in the present, and change the future!

Marking the 70th anniversary of the remembrance day of the Roma Genocide on August 2, ternYpe International Roma Youth Network with its partner organizations intend to gather 1.000 young Roma and non-Roma from all over the world in the “Roma Genocide Remembrance Initiative” on 30 July-04 August 2014 in Krakow and Auschwitz, Poland.

This is a unique and outstanding event that gives young people and youth organizations the opportunity to come together in a social forum, to exchange experiences and to debate about the past, present and future.

Eligibility

Participants are young Roma and non-Roma, age 18 – 30 years, who are actively engaged in youth organizations and share the interest to fight stereotypes and antigypsyism, to learn about the Roma Genocide and to advocate for its recognition. Some places will be also given to youth, minority, human rights and anti-racist organizations.

Costs

Member and partner organizations have an agreed number of places for their group or country. This includes organizations from Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain. TernYpe covers the accommodation and board for a limited number of participants, as agreed with its partner organizations. Partners organizations/participants cover the international travel costs to Krakow and back – many partner organizations organize buses running from their country to Krakow.

For external participants, the fee for accommodation and board for 5 nights (30 July-04 August) is 100 €.
