OSCE MISSION IN KOSOVO/ SENIOR HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICER (VACANCY NUMBER: VNKOSS01629)

Responsibilities

   - Forms the management of the Regional Centre, together with the Director and the Senior Democratization Officer;
   - Liaises with the management of the RC on all monitoring activities in the area of responsibility. Performs specific monitoring tasks in
     relation to community rights, non-discrimination issues and other human rights concerns as assigned;
   - In close co-operation with the Senior Democratization Officer, supervises programmatic staff in the Regional Centre as assigned;
   - Executes and supervises the implementation of monitoring instructions received from Headquarters in close co-operation with the Senior
     Democratization Officer;
   - Compiles regular reports on activities of all staff of the Department located in the RC, and submits those reports to the Director of the RC
     and to the relevant staff of the Department in Headquarters; drafts spot reports on request of the RC Director or Department;


Requirements

   - Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations or equivalent professional experience
   - Sound knowledge of international and European human rights standards, in particular in relation to communities rights
   - Management experience and team-building ability
   - International field work experience in monitoring and reporting
   - Strong analytical and problem solving skills
   - Professional fluency in English language and the capability of drafting documents under pressure and within short deadlines
