Background
The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system to enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programmes and activities of the United Nations System. The Security Management Team composed of heads of UN Agencies in Albania under the leadership of the Designated Official for Albania, support on yearly basis the activities of UNDSS vis a vis a yearly cost shared security budget the purpose of which is to provide emergency support and communications for the effective UN Security Management and crisis response.
Requirements
- University Degree, preferably in Administration, Finance, Accounting, Communications;
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken);
- Good drafting skills;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Computer proficiency;
- Ability to work under pressure, to manage and prioritize competing demands, and to meet deadlines.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in general administration, budget, finance, business
administration, accounting, financial operations, or in any other relevant area of expertise;
- Knowledge of UN Security Management an asset
- Understanding of the pertinent UN administrative instructions, financial and accounting policies, rules and procedures;
- Experience in handling of web based management systems;
- Experience with public awareness activities;
- An understanding of communications means and proper usage an advantage
Responsibilities
- Respond to routine requests for information;
- Distribute the information sources to interested UN Agency;
- Draft and produce information materials for the project; publish and circulate the project deliverables;
- Draft and edit the correspondence and reports; contribute to monitoring and evaluation procedures in close collaboration with
the UNSA; compile the relevant data, as needed;
