Background
UNDP’s country programme is set to support the country’s long-term development agenda and its aspirations for the EU membership. Based on the joint UN assessment of the country’s development priorities, UNDP’s comparative advantage, the local knowledge and its global network of expertise, the overall programme focuses on three thematic areas i.e. social inclusion, good governance and environmental protection.
The social inclusion programme is expected to contribute to country’s continuous efforts to create policy space, improve capacities of national institutions to respond to the needs of the vulnerable individuals and groups at risk of exclusion and enlarge opportunities for their better inclusion in the socio-economic processes and the civic life.
Responsibilities
- To support technically and organizationally policy deliberations related to the new Law on Prevention, Support and Protection from DV
and its alignment with the international standards in terms of protection of women victims of domestic violence and violence against
woman.
- To organize activities that will support multi-sectoral approach in implementation of national policies and measures in response to
domestic violence.
- To identify potential activities that will be considered under a joint proposal of UN Agencies in the country, to serve for future
mobilization of funds
- To arrange all technical aspects for regular consultation, coordination and cooperation among key national stakeholders, including
judiciary and CSOs
- To reach out and ensure further dissemination of the project results among relevant stakeholders
Requirements
- University Degree in law, social sciences and/or political affairs. Master degree is a strong asset.
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office; Windows XP, Internet); excellent communications, report writing and analytical
skills.
- Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonian. Knowledge of Albanian language and/or
languages of other communities shall be considered an asset.
- At least 3 years (2 years for candidates with Master Degree) of relevant professional and project management
experience preferably on projects dealing with the rule of law
- Previous experience in delivering technical experience to gender related projects preferably with focus on protection of
women against violence would be an asset ;
- Evident experience in liaising and co-operating with government officials, scientific institutions, NGOs and private sector;
