Responsibilities
- Prepares regular and ad-hoc reports on political developments in Ukraine, including the Mission bi-weekly; and co-ordinates the input
from senior staff as needed and ensures that information is conveyed accurately and understandably;
- Provides analysis, both oral and written, of trends affecting the Mission's operating environment, advising the DCM's and other senior
staff on any issues which require a response or action by the Mission;
- Produces background material for meetings of the Chief Monitor and DCM's with political interlocutors, including briefing packages for
high-level visitors, and attends and reports on these meetings as requested;
- Drafts, as requested, articles, answers to interviews and speeches for the Chief Monitor and DCM's; and works closely with the Press
Officers to ensure that final drafts incorporate clear messages;
- Reviews, on behalf of the DCM's, policy documents, reports for external distribution and letters, ensuring that material submitted for
clearance is consistent with the Mission's mandate and political objectives;
Requirements
- Minimum six years of professional experience in international relations, within either international organizations, political parties,
legislatures or academia/think-tanks
- Professional experience in a related field, preferably in an international environment or within operational missions
- Professional fluency in the English language with the ability to analyse and communicate clearly and concisely
- Significant prior experience in relevant fields such as political and security issues
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds,
different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity
- Cultural sensitivity and political judgement
