The overall objectives of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 are to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to strengthen bilateral relations between the Donor State a nd the Beneficiary States through financial contribution.
The memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the Norwegian financial mechanism 2009–2014 was signed on 17.06.2011.
In accordance with Article 5 of the Agreement between the Kingdom of Norway and the European Union on a Norwegian financial mechanism 2009 - 2014, a total of € 48 million shall be made available to Republic of Bulgaria over the period 2009-2014, out of which 2 million euros were allocated to the Programme Area “Domestic and gender - based violence”
Programme Objectives
The measure aims at decreasing the latent domestic violence by increasing and improving the support services for victims of DV. Financing will be made available for individual projects which contribute to supporting assistance and services for victims of DV such as short - term accommodation, counseling and psychological services, outreach services, advocacy and legalcounseling and other support services.
Eligibility
- NGOs and international organizations operating in Bulgaria.
- The project promoter should be personally responsible for implementing and managing the project.
- The project promoter must have at least one project implemented during the last 5 years. The implemented project must include
activities relevant to the activities envisaged under the submitted project proposal. The grant amount of the implemented project must
be at least 30% of the project grant amount the applicant applies for.
Budget
The total allocation available for this measure is: EU 300.000.
- minimum project grant applied for under this measure is: EUR 20.000.
- maximum amount is: EUR 100.000.
