The overall objectives of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 are to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to strengthen bilateral relations between the Donor State a nd the Beneficiary States through financial contribution.
The memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the Norwegian financial mechanism 2009–2014 was signed on 17.06.2011.
In accordance with Article 5 of the Agreement between the Kingdom of Norway and the European Union on a Norwegian financial mechanism 2009 - 2014, a total of € 48 million shall be made available to Republic of Bulgaria over the period 2009-2014, out of which 2 million euros were allocated to the Programme Area “Domestic and gender - based violence”
Programme Objectives
The measure aims at decreasing the Gender-based violence through information campaigns and initiatives for in creasing the awareness and the knowledge among the victims of gender-based violence (such as domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, psychological violence, sexual harassment), vulnerable communities and the society as a whole. The aim is toprevent gender-based violence and promote zero tolerance for such violence. By disseminating of information on gender-based violence among victims of such violence, vulnerable communities and the society as a whole and by raising the awareness on the problem and informing the victims of gender-based violence, vulnerable communities and the society as a whole of their rights, the victims will be empowered to seek protection and support and to report incidents of violence.
Eligibility
- NGOs and international organizations operating in Bulgaria.
- The project promoter should be personally responsible for implementing and managing the project.
- The project promoter must have at least one project implemented during the last 5 years. The implemented project must include
activities relevant to the activities envisaged under the submitted project proposal. The grant amount of the implemented project must
be at least 30% of the project grant amount the applicant applies for.
Budget
The total allocation available for this measure is: EUR 170.588.
- minimum project grant applied for under this measure is: EUR 15.000 and
- maximum amount is: EUR 50.000.
