Description                                                             Max. Grant amount: USD 5,000

Founded in 1990 the IPRA Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, furthers the purposes and activities of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA) which, since 1965, has sought to enhance the processes of peace.
Peace research is distinguished by its attention to systematic observation or study of conflict phenomena and peace strategies. It explains how the conditions of peace can be advanced and/or the causes of war and other forms of violence be removed. The IPRA Foundation began as a depository of funds brought in by people with specific projects. The main task was to invest those funds safely in socially acceptable enterprises and pay them out as needed.

The IPRA Foundation provides Peace Research Grants to support systematic observation or study of conflict phenomena and peace strategies. As of January 1, 2013, the Small Peace Research Grants Program has been replaced by the IPRA Foundation Peace Research Grants Program. The program is the same, but the amount of the award has increased.
