US PRE-LL.M AND LL.M INTERLINKED PROGRAMS FOR 2014-2015 FOR CAUCASUS REGION

Description

Chicago-Kent School of American Law for Caucasus is announcing an enrollment for two interlinked programs: two-semester Pre-LL.M program in Tbilisi, Georgia and one-semester LL.M degree program in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Since 2012 Chicago-Kent College of Law operates the special program for Caucasus Region and provides practicing lawyers, litigators and future lawyers with the superior quality of American Education. For that purpose, School of American Law offers significant scholarships for Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
The Pre-LL.M component covers two-semester program based in Tbilisi, Georgia from October 2014 to June 2015.
The learning mode is one or two courses per month covering weekends only throughout full day workshop sessions with 12 academic hours per course.

The Pre-LL.M. courses for the 2014-2015 academic year are as follows:
   - Introduction to American Legal Systems (IALS),
   - Legal Writing (LW),
   - International Business Transactions (IBT),
   - E-Commerce & Online Contracting,
   - US and EU Privacy Law,
   - US Intellectual Property Law,
   - Patent Law (IP Law),
   - Comparative Advertisement & Marketing Law,
   - Antitrust Law,
   - Business Organizations (BO),
   - International Criminal Law and etc.

All ten courses of Pre-LL.M study are delivered exclusively by the Professors of Chicago-Kent College of Law, as well as program curricula, exam policy, grading system, examination, reading materials are developed by Chicago-Kent professors based on GPA standards.
Students attending the Pre-LL.M Program will be graded solely by the Chicago-Kent College of Law Professors and will be required to earn a minimum 2.7 GPA in order to be eligible for admission to the LL.M. program at Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Learning at Chicago-Kent School of American Law is in English, therefore, all applicants should be proficient in English. However, applicants are not required to submit a TOEFL score in order to joint the program.
Pre-LL.M. component is the unique opportunity for the language skills development, which helps students to continue LL.M study at Chicago-Kent with significant success.

Eligibility

    - Practitioner lawyers or licensed to practice law in the home jurisdiction;
    - Graduate law students;
    - Law students in their third and forth years of undergraduate study (LL.B degree);
    - Graduates from different bachelors degree with LL.M and Bar Membership;

Scholarship

The significant scholarships up to 75% for each Pre-LL.M program graduate are guaranteed and as a result. The tuition fee for LL.M Study at Chicago-Kent equals to USD 10,000 (ten thousand) instead of regular tuition fee – USD 44,000.

 

Pre-LL.M program is financially affordable as tuition fee shall be covered by several installments:
   - The tuition fee for Pre-LL.M component equals to USD 5, 900 which shall be paid into three payments.
   - The tuition fee for LL.M in Chicago for only Pre-LL.M program graduates equals to USD 10,000 instead of Chicago-Kent College of
     Law’s regular tuition fee of USD 44,000.

Application

    - CV in English;
    - Cover Letter in English;
    - Letter of reference. The letter of reference should provide the contact information of referee;
    - Copy of the Passport or ID;
    - Copy of diploma or university statement for LL.B. degree students;
    - All required documents should be submitted to admission@salcaucasus.ge
