Background
The main objective of the Project “Promoting Sustainable Employments and Supporting the Government in implementation of the Operational Plan for Active Labour Market Measures 2014” is to support the Government and national institutions to better plan, implement and monitor active labour market measures (ALMMs). The programme will contribute to implementation of the 2014 Operational Plan on ALMMs and its components. Promoting Sustainable Emlpoyments 3, project will contribute to efficient implementation of the 2014 Operational Plan on ALMMs and its components focusing on: self-employment; additional employment in micro and small companies and craftsmen shops; training in occupations demanded on the labour market, community work employments and other activities to increase the level of readiness of the vulnerable groups and their inclusion in the ALMMs and the labour market. The project will further deepen the partnership with national institutions responsible for development and implementation of ALMMs. In particular, it will closely collaborate with local institutions including the units of local self-government, business sector and civil society. Such partnerships will provide better results in the implementation of these measures and a better understanding of the realistic situation of demanded jobs in less developed areas. This year the programme will support the existing micro and small companies (MSC) through models that would improve the working environment, marketing tools and better presentation of their products and services. Encouraging innovation and use of new technologies and practices in business processes is expected to stimulate the growth and sustainability of micro and small companies and create quality jobs.
Responsibilities
- Verify correctness of procurement documents (invoices and receipts) and fulfill claims for VAT refund by Public Revenue Office
- Managing data and storing, mainly entering data of beneficiaries’ evaluation questionnaires into statistical database
- Assistance in organizing meetings of the different project working groups and working bodies, municipalities etc
- Translating documents from Macedonian to English and vice versa and translating articles for the project website in English language
version
- Attending and summarizing minutes of meetings
- Document, legal and internet research related to demographic, social and economic indicators for municipalities in the country
Requirements
- Enrolment in a graduate-level degree programme in a development related field such as international relations, sociology, public or
business administration. Only those students who will return to their degree studies upon completion of their internship assignments are
eligible
- Very good command of English and Macedonian (both written and spoken); Knowledge of other local languages shall be considered an
asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong work ethic and commitment
- Personal sensitivity and commitment to the values and principles of volunteerism
