Objective:
UN Women is seeking to recruit a local consultant that will provide an independent evaluation of the results of the projects for piloting standards in provision of free of charge legal aid to survivors of domestic violence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the UN Women office in Skopje as lead UN Agency responsible for this Output, the local consultant will carry out the evaluation in the period between December 20th 2011 and February 29th 2012. The evaluation will specifically aim at the following:
• Based on the analysis of projects expected results to evaluate the extent to which these have been/not been achieved;
• Specifically assess the extent to which Standards for legal aid provision have been piloted by the legal aid centres;
• Consolidate lessons learnt and develop recommendations on the adoption and enforcement of the Standards for legal aid for Civil society
organizations.
Required Skills and Experience
• University degree or equivalent in law, social sciences, sociology or related studies. Advanced university degree would be considered an
advantage
• Knowledge of Macedonian language and fluency in spoken and written English is a must
• At least 3 years professional experience in area of gender issues, violence against women or legal assistance
Duration and remuneration:
The duration of the contract will be of approximately 15 days in the period between 20 December 2011 and 28 February 2012. Remuneration will be based on consultant’s qualification and years of experience. The payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of all tasks in the assignment, and submission and approval by UN Women of final report.
