EUROPEAID/136483/DD/ACT/BA: EIDHR - COUNTRY BASED SUPPORT SCHEME 2014

Description                                                                     Grants up to: 200 000 EUR

The global objective of this Call for Proposals is equal to global objective of EIDHR, set out formally in Article 1 of the Regulation N°235/2014: to promote and support democracy and human rights worldwide allowing for assistance that will contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms, within the framework of the Community’s policy on development cooperation, and economic, financial and technical cooperation with third countries, and consistent with the EU’s foreign policy as a whole.

The specific objective of this Call for Proposals is to support civil society and human rights defenders in third countries in working on human rights (political, civil, economic, social and cultural), and democratisation


Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:

   - be a legal person and
   - be non-profit-making and
   - be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by
     Article 43 of the Rules of application of the EU Financial Regulation1 and
   - be established in2 a Member State of the European Union or candidates or potential candidates for accession as recognised by the EU or
     in a Member State of the European Economic Area. This obligation does not apply to international organisations and
   - be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as
     an intermediary.


Budget

The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 1.000.000. The Contracting Authority reserves the right not to award all available funds.


Size of grants

Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:

   - minimum amount: EUR 100.000
   - maximum amount: EUR 200.000
