Background
Following several years of relatively stable economic growth, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic performance has significantly deteriorated, in part because of the global economic crisis, but also due to the generally slow pace of transitional reforms. An unfriendly business and investment climate, inefficient government spending and an erosion of public confidence have also discouraged entrepreneurial activity.
Responsibilities
The Junior Economic Development Officer will have the following key functions:
- Technical support and coordination of the implementation of economic development
components/activities under the assigned projects;
- Day-to-day administrative support;
- Support in gender equality mainstreaming and knowledge management.
Requirements
- University degree in the field of Business, Economics, and / or Development.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of economic, rural or private sector
development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Understanding of development trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Fluency in English and BiH languages, with excellent drafting and presentation skills.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use information technologies as a tool and resource;
- Valid driving license (B category);
- Ability and willingness to travel within BiH.
