Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
-University degree in the field of communications, journalism, public relations, social science or other related field.
Work Experience:
-Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in advocacy, journalism, communications, public relations or
related fields.
-Experience in developing advocacy and communication plans and working with issues related to SGBV is a significant advantage.
Skills and knowledge areas:
-The incumbent should display a keen awareness and understanding of media and the political terrain in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the
region;
-Strong background in the field of advocacy, communications and public information and ability to conceptualize and design an Advocacy
Strategy;
-Sound knowledge of problems and critical needs of survivors of SGBV during war time in BiH and in the region;
-Show understanding for the sensitive nature of the work involving survivors of SGBV during war time in BiH;
-Communicates clearly and effectively. Seeks to understand the ideas of others. Helps create an environment for open communication.
-Delivers oral/written information in a timely, effective and easily understood manner.
-Ability to function in the UN system.
-Strong interpersonal communication skills.
-Excellent writing skills in English language.
-Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different ethnic backgrounds.
-Fluent in English and BHS Languages
