On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is my pleasure to invite you to the 6th Central European Congress on Food, which will take place in Hotel Park in Novi Sad, Serbia, from 23rd to 26th May 2012.

Since 2002 CEFood Congress was incepted in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as biennial congress that gathers the representatives of universities and research institutes, but also food producers and distributors, to promote research, development, innovation and education within food science and technology. The following four CEFood Congresses were successfully executed in Budapest - Hungary (2004), Sofia - Bulgaria (2006), Cavtat - Croatia (2008), and Bratislava – Slovakia (2010).

CEFood Congress gives a unique opportunity for food scientists, researchers, technologists, producers and nutritionists, young scientists and students for presentation of results and findings of their own work, exchange information on new processes, promotion of networking and discussion about mutual cooperation, and advancement of interaction between academia and industry.

The emphasis of this CEFood Congress will be on the following topics:

     -Food Ingredients, Health and Nutrition, Functional Foods
     -Food Analysis, Microbiology, Quality and Safety Assurance
     -Food Engineering, Processing and Technology
     -Packaging and Shelf Life, Product Design
     -Food Biotechnology, Novel Bioproducts, and Food Structure
     -Food, Consumers and Sensory Science
     -Traditional Food, Food with Appellation of Origin
     -Food and Feed Chain Management
     -Feed as Challenges for Food Supplier Chain
     -Education, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer
