Description
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD” or the “Bank”) is providing a loan of up to EUR 4.5 million to the public transport company “Auto promet d.o.o. Sisak (“Auto promet”, “AP” or the “Company”) in the City of Sisak (“Sisak” or the “City”) to finance the modernisation of the City’s bus fleet (the “Project”).
The Company currently operates 34 buses. The average age of the AP bus fleet is 13 years, with a range from 6 to 25 years, compared to the optimal industry standard of 3-4 years. Such a fleet condition is unsustainable, especially with regards to the pollution, noise and lack of reliability created by the current fleet, with a negative impact on both the environment and living conditions in and around the City.
