Description
The 10th Konitsa Summer School offers a full academic programme with an emphasis on theoretical, epistemological and methodological issues in Sociocultural Anthropology. It includes courses discussing the current political and economic conditions in SE Europe as well as border crossings and boundary construction processes.
Moreover, the participants have a chance to conduct short fieldwork projects in three Balkan countries, participate in the BCN’s publication series, actively engage in local issues within the framework of Applied Anthropology, and become acquainted with the border area.
Various lecturers from the Balkans, the rest of Europe and USA join their forces to teach providing an international aura and enhancing the School’s interdisciplinary character. Susana Narotzky, professor at the Universitat de Barcelona, will be the invited speaker to deliver a lecture and a workshop. The summer school will be held in Konitsa, Greece from 23 July until 12 August 2015.
Eligibility
Eligible to apply are undergraduate, graduates, current MA students, MA graduates, PhD candidates.
Costs
Accommodation, meals and travel expenses (for attending cultural events) will be covered by the Summer School and the municipality of Konitsa. Any travel costs for coming to and leaving Konitsa must be paid by the participants themselves. The participation fee is 250€, it should be paid in cash upon arrival and registration in Konitsa.
