Responsibilities

   - Reviews policies and plans related to discrimination against vulnerable groups in order to identify gaps or overlaps and devise effective
     strategies;
   - Analyzes information provided by field officers through regular reports and field surveys, co-operates with the Human Rights Rights
     Adviser to devise concrete recommendations, and works closely with field officers to translate these recommendations into effective
     intervention strategies at local level;
   - Advises field officers on how to evaluate the impact of their local interventions, draws field evaluations together and ensures that
     examples of good practice are communicated throughout the field;
   - Develops contacts with State-level institutions responsibile for protecting economic and social rights and maintains these relationships to
     ensure that human rights standards are mainstreamed into the work of these institutions;
   - Works closely with the Human Rights Officers and National Programme Officers, Human Rights in the field to keep track of policy
     developments at entity, cantonal and municipal levels, assess the impact of these developments on overall policy, and advises on
     appropriate strategies to address any issues that arise;
   - Works with other international actors to co-ordinate strategies to improve respect for the rights of vulnerable groups;


Requirements

   - Sound knowledge of international standards regarding discrimination and how they interact with Bosnian and Herzegovina legislation
   - Knowledge of international legal procedure standards and instruments
   - Experience of building contacts and working effectively with a wide range of government officials, civil society advocates and
     organizations
   - Sound knowledge of international human rights standards
   - Demonstrable negotiation skills
   - Professional fluency in written and spoken English
   - Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and e-mail
   - Sound knowledge and understanding of the political environment in which the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina operates
