OSCE MISSION IN KOSOVO/ SENIOR HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICER/HEAD OF REGIONAL OFFICE (VACANCY NUMBER: VNKOSS01718)

Responsibilities

   - Performs specific monitoring tasks in relation to community rights, property rights, non-discrimination issues and other human rights
     concerns as assigned;
   - In-charge of the implementation of the monitoring instructions received from Headquarters
   - Drafts spot reports and compiles regular reports on activities of all the staff of the Department located in the Regional Office;
   - Co-ordinates and co-operates closely with Field Co-ordination in the Headquarters to ensure fair utilization of capacities in the field;
   - Facilitates and directs the work of other professional and support staff of the Department in the Regional Office in line with instructions
     received from the Headquarters;
   - Assists and co-ordinates the implementation of projects in the field;


Requirements

   - Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations or other related fields
   - Sound knowledge of international and  regional human rights standards and community rights
   - Sound understanding of the main functional areas of the Mission's mandate
   - Proven management and leadership qualities including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of
     different national and cultural backgrounds
   - Proven experience in management of projects and budgets
   - Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
   - Strong analytical and problem solving skills
   - Cultural sensitivity and judgment
