The European Commission developed the Guidelines to support media freedom and media integrity in enlargement countries in the period 2014-2020. The strategic approach is supported by financial and technical assistance through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance that will adress three overarching areas: the enabling environment for free expression and media; straightening journalists' and media professionals ' organisations as the key drivers of the needed change; helping media outlets improve their internal governance, thus making them more resilient against external pressure and restoring audience's confidence in them.
Size of grants
Minimum amount: EUR 50,000.
Maximum amount: EUR 150,000.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be print, electronic, on-line media , news agencies , media production houses and media associations
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in a county covered by Article 10 of the IPA Regislation
- be directly responsible for preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an
intermediary
- be based in Serbia or in a Member State of the European Union but with an established office in Serbia
