Responsibilities

   - Ensures that the Department's resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve the Human Dimension Programme objectives,
     providing co-ordination between the political and programmatic aspects of the Mission's work in the Field Office;
   - In co-operation with supervisor and HDD Project Managers, supports programme implementation through provision of mentoring and
     advice on programme policy and implementation and intervening directly with local counterparts where necessary;
   - Liaises with governmental, non-governmental and international organizations active in sectors relevant to the Human Dimension
     Programme in the AoR to gather information and ensures appropriate field level co-ordination;
   - Acquaints him/herself with local political and social conditions and proactively seeks information which might have an impact on the
     current implementation and future development of the Human Dimension Programme in his/her AoR and advises the Head Office
     accordingly;
   - Provides timely and accurate advice to Head Office and the field on all aspects relevant to the implementation and future planning of the
     programme, including first level evaluation of programmatic activities taking place in the AoR;


Requirements

   - A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in an international setting; previous experience of working in an international
     organization is preferred;
   - Thorough understanding of the work of the Human Dimension Department (HDD) and the strategic and local issues related to human
     rights, education, rule of law and democratic governance;
   - Thorough knowledge of political structures and current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
   - Excellent communication and analytical skills with proven capacity to formulate complex issues in simple terms;
   - Professional fluency in written and spoken English;
