OSCE MISSION IN KOSOVO/ SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER (VACANCY NUMBER: VNKOSS01739)

Responsibilities

   - Monitors criminal, civil or administrative law cases and the justice sector in northern Kosovo;
   - Reports on a weekly basis on systematic human rights violations and other legal issues observed through monitoring the justice sector in
     the area of responsibility;
   - Assists in drafting reports by providing statistical information and legal analysis of human rights violations in the areas of concern;
   - Maintains professional contacts with legal professionals within the justice sector in northern Kosovo;
   - Serves as a liaison between the Mission and local and international stakeholders operating in the justice sector in the area of
     responsibility;
   - Designs and managing projects aimed at improving the justice sector in the area of responsibility;


Requirements

   - First-level university degree in the relevant field
   - Knowledge of courtroom proceedings, in the areas of criminal, civil or administrative law and procedures
   - Knowledge of international human rights law
   - Experience of working with the courts or experience in court monitoring
   - Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and judgment to local conditions and communities
   - Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds,
     different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity
