Recognising the vital contribution made by the civil society to the promotion and protection of these principles, the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council in March 2014 for the period 2014-2020 - replacing and building upon the EIDHR (2006-2013). This thematic instrument recognises the importance given to development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, of both women and men, by providing financial support for activities supporting these goals.
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- minimum amount: EUR 75.000
- maximum amount: EUR 250.000.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be specific types of organisations such as: non-governmental organisations
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in a countries covered by Article 19 of IPA regulation
- be organisations registered in Kosovo
