Background
The UNDP office in Skopje, through its Governance Unit, has been accompanying the improvement of the governance structures for a longer period of time, mainly through support to activities related to the decentralization process and ensuring sustainable local development. Within that framework, the Unit works on several dimensions, such as local development, fiscal decentralization, transparency and accountability, inter-municipal cooperation and public-private partnerships and other service delivery tools, as well as developing policy products related to the issue. Most recent interventions have been focused on local development and offering innovative solutions for improved access to services at local level in supporting the decentralization agenda of the Ministry of Local Self-Government (MLSG).
To support effective monitoring and implementation of the above portfolio, the Governance Unit intends to engage a Monitoring Officer, to support a set of initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on the progress in implementation of project activities
- Technical support to partner institutions, organizations and stakeholders in implementation of project activities
- Administrative support to the implementation of project activities
- Governance Unit overall programme planning and implementation support
Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent in social sciences
- At least 3 years of professional experience in development, monitoring and evaluation development projects, or experience in performing
tasks similar to the required job position
- Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonian. Knowledge of other local languages shall be considered an asset
