Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and implementation of the Mission's democratic governance programme and strategies, with a specific focus
on youth and education in a multi-lingual environment and inter-community relations;
- Closely follows and reports on the developments in the youth and education areas, contributes in identifying trends, patterns and
challenges in defining and implementing Unit's interventions;
- Advises and assists the Chief of Democratic Governance Unit and Unit's staff in designing and developing project proposals and research,
facilitates the implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of projects in the fields of youth and education in a multi-lingual
environment, inter-community relations and conflict prevention;
- Establishes and maintains contact and cooperation with relevant national and international stakeholders; represents the Unit at meetings
with government representatives, international organizations and NGOs when appropriate; organizes such events and meetings;
- Conducts research and analyses in these fields, including on relevant national and international practices and legislation;
Requirements
- Relevant work experience in the field of democratic governance, with a special focus on youth and education in an international
environment
- Sound knowledge and experience in all phases of the project management cycle
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Ability to build and maintain constructive work relationships and coordinate co-operation with external interlocutors, including
Government institutions at local and central levels, civil society actors, international organizations and donors
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds,
different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining flexibility, impartiality and objectivity
- Ability to analyze complex issues, identify key aspects and present them in a clear and understandable manner (both in writing and orally)
