Background Maximum amount: 1 500 000 EUR
As it is established in numerous strategic documents of Armenia, the key priority of regional development in Armenia for the coming years is the increase of employment through creation of quality and high productivity jobs. The importance of development of human capital is also highlighted in the Armenian Development Strategy until 2025. These objectives are fully justified by the current socio-economic trends in the regions, and are in the focus of the Pilot Regional Development Programme (PRDP). With the implementation of the Grant Scheme it is expected to achieve measurable increase of employment, and improvement in competitiveness of firms and other employers within regional growth sectors.
Objectives
The global objective of this call for proposals is:
- To support the Government in progressing towards a more balanced social and economic development between regions of Armenia
through creating new jobs and increasing the economic competitiveness of regions.
The specific objective (s) of this call for proposals are:
- To create economic opportunities and diversify economies in the ten regions of Armenia - support business climate, productive
investments, cooperation among companies, especially SMEs, and related infrastructures.
- To create employment opportunities - provide relevant skills and promote sustainable employment, specifically in growth sectors,
emerging and innovative sectors, especially among the young adults.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
Indicate the relevant criteria with due regard for the objectives and priorities of this call for proposals, complying with the principles of transparency and non-discrimination.
- be a legal person, existing at least one year before the call is published and
- be non-profit-making and
- Be a specific type of organisation such as:
- Public sector operator, such as local or regional authorities, Regional Development Agencies or other developmental bodies (e.g. Rural
Development Centres, Local Economic Development Offices, SME agencies / associations, chambers of commerce and industry, local
public utility companies, tourism development bodies, local employment offices and Local Employment Councils, higher education
institutions or other similar organizations);
- Private sector operators (such as: business organizations, cluster associations, industry and professional associations or other
organizations such as vocational education institutions, employers and entrepreneurs associations or other similar organizations);
- Non-governmental or international organizations.
- be established in Armenia or in a Member State of the European Union and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as
an intermediary, and
- have statutory objectives relevant to the objectives of the Grant Scheme, and
- apply for this call for proposal as lead applicant and / or co-applicant only in one project proposal, and
- Eligible organizations with their legal seat in Yerevan can apply for the PRDP only in partnership with relevant regional partners, with the
condition that the project will benefit at least one of the regions of Armenia (the outputs and results of the project will be realised outside
of Yerevan).
Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 7,000,000.
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- minimum amount: EUR 500,000 (EU grant)
- maximum amount: EUR 1,500,000 (EU grant)
