Requirements
- University education in law or significant work experience in criminal justice and/or law enforcement (the latter required for police corrections officer training)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant, diversified and progressively responsible professional experience including at least 3 years at the management level relevant to the actual
position
- Fluency in the English language, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely and ability to edit English legal texts
- Ability to operate Windows applications, including word processing and e-mail
Responsibilities
- Leads the Department, taking responsibility for all aspects of staffing and administration
- Develops, co-ordinates and monitors the implementation of OSCE projects in the area of rule of law and human rights
- Provides advice and analysis on rule of law and human rights issues, based on the analysis of relevant laws and practices and based on familiarity with the issues and key
players in the sector, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards
- Provides legal advice to the Head of Presence and other senior staff on matters relating to OSCE rules and regulations as well as international law
