Background

Grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, UN Women will work for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Placing women’s rights at the center of all its efforts, UN Women will lead and coordinate United Nations System efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming translate into action throughout the world. It will provide strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States’ priorities and efforts, building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Operations Associate provides the overall administration and execution of transparent and efficient varied and inter-related operational activities such as HR services, procurement services and processes and logistical activities in the Country Office, ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.

Responsibilities
  - Implementation of operational strategies
  - Provision of effective and efficient administrative support services
  - Administration and Management of Individual Contract
  - Support to supply and assets management
  - Effective administrative and financial control in the office

Requirements

  - Secondary education.  Certification in Administration/ Procurement.  University Degree in Business or Public Administration desirable, but it is not a requirement.
  - 6 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in administration support service.
  - Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.). Experience in handling of web-based management systems.
  - Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station
