Background
Severe flooding that hit much of the country in January and February 2015 caused widespread damage and economic losses. The most affected regions were the basins of the Crna Reka, Bregalnica and Strumica rivers, which cover 45% of the territory of the country. The floods caused heavy damage to the country’s transport infrastructure, including roads and bridges at national, regional and local levels. This had a negative impact on productive activities and travel between cities and villages in the affected areas.
Responsibilities
- Familiarize with the existing construction projects based on review of technical documentation, site visits and meetings with relevant
stakeholders
- Support the preparation of the tendering documentation (for construction contractors and supervising engineers)
- Take part in tender evaluations (as observer) and provide expert input in the evaluation of bids as required
- Advise on the national legal requirements and procedures, international standards applicable to construction works
Requirements
- University degree in Civil Engineering. Advanced degree shall be considered an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in transport infrastructure construction contract management and/or supervision of
transport infrastructure construction works
- Macedonian and English language proficiency.
