Background

Severe flooding hit much of the country in January and February 2015, causing widespread damage and economic losses. Heavy rainfall caused rivers to overflow in many locations, and 44 out of 80 municipalities, with roughly 170,000 people were affected in all. The floods caused major damages to roads and bridges, interrupting transport, and drainage and irrigation systems were also damaged. Much agricultural land was also flooded, causing extensive losses to farming families.

Responsibilities

  - Perform administrative and financial duties related to implementation of  the EU Floods Recovery projects
  - Assist with organizing operational and administrative processes for the projects and provides support to office maintenance
  - Support implementation of projects strategies focusing on achieving the projects results
  - Manage the projects documentation in an appropriate and satisfactory manner
  - Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing across Unit’s projects, particularly in finance and administrative/ATLAS matters

Requirements

  - Minimum secondary education. University degree in Economics, Administration, or other related disciplines would be an asset
  - At least 7 years (5 years for candidates with University Degree) of relevant professional experience in project administration, procurement
    and financial operations, preferably on similar projects
  - Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonian. Knowledge of other local languages shall be an asset
