Background
The purpose of this position is to ensure the day-to-day implementation of project activities and the provision of high quality advice on migration/displacement and development. The objective of this position is to ensure results-oriented, effective, efficient and accountable implementation of project activities to the required standard of quality and within the specified constrains of time and cost.
Requirements
- A university degree in social science, political science, law, international relations, engineering or other related fields. A Masters will be
considered as a strong asset.
- At least 5 years (3 years for candidates with MA) of experience on or directly related the design, implementation, management and monitoring
of development projects;
- Thorough understanding of the political, economic and social climate;
- Experience with migration, displacement and refugee crisis;
- Prior experience in managing staff;
- Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonia;
- Knowledge of languages of other communities shall be considered an asse.
Responsibilities
Summary of key functions:
- Provide day-to-day management and coordination of project activities;
- Act as focal point on migration and displacement related issues for the UNDP Country Office;
- Provide high quality and timely advisory support on migration and development to the UNDP Resident Representative. Deputy Resident
Representative and ensure a coherent position for UNDP;
- Support resource mobilization efforts;
- Lead knowledge management on migration/displacement and development and represent the project in government and non-governmental
forums;
- Oversee and manage the project team.
- Other duties as required.
