Background
The purpose of the project is to further improve legal and policy frameworks, strengthen prevention system and assistance mechanisms for survivors of violence and improve access to effective protection from violence through sustainable delivery of general and specialist services. At the operational level, the project will provide support to strengthen assistance services and access to effective protection from violence, prosecution of perpetrators, including allocation of state funding for general and specialist services. Prevention aspect will be addressed through work on changing social and normative environment by recalling the state on due diligence and raising awareness on women’s human rights and zero tolerance towards violence against women as well as changing gender stereotypes. The project is implemented as an integral part of the 5-year UN Country Team Development Partnership Framework for Serbia for the period 2016-2020.
Responsibilities
The Joint Project Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate the UN Joint Project “Integrated Response to Violence against Women and Girls in Serbia – 2 phase” and to contribute to results oriented, effective, efficient and accountable implementation of the activities and achievement of planned project results.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Coordination of the programme implementation:
- Accountability for project management and reporting:
- Networking, establishment and maintenance of regular dialogue with relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries, support to resource mobilization
- Ensure implementation of knowledge management activities
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum Bachelors or equivalent in a relevant field (preferably related to political and/or social sciences, with specific focus on gender equality and sexual and gender based violence); Master degree is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a management position, preferably in international/multilateral development context.
- Fluency and ability to communicate in English. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Serbian and English.
