Background:
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Coordination Analyst in Podgorica, Montenegro. The duration of this post is 1 year. The Coordination Analyst will supervise and lead the UN Coordination Unit support personnel (UN Communications Analyst, Youth Project Coordinator and UN Coordination Assistant).
Responsibilities
The Coordination Analyst will perform the following functions:
- Thorough analysis and research of the political, social and economic situation in the country including support for establishing Dev-Info in coordination with relevant national counterparts.
- Participation in the work of the CCA Thematic Group activities and preparation of inputs to CCA.
- Supervising preparation and update of UNDAF Online Hub, including UN Common Budgetary Framework, UN Annual Work Plan, UN Communications Strategy.
- Providing guidance and support to the UNCT in implementation of Delivering as One (DaO) Standard Operating Procedure.
- Preparation of proposals for funding and drafting of the RC/UNCT Work Plan and annual reports.
- Technical support for UNCT meetings and retreats to review the annual work plan, budget and UNCT activities.
- Monitoring of the Support to the Resident Coordinator (SRC) fund and other funds dedicated to UNCT activities.
- Arrangement of regular forums and events on issues related to UN activities with media, NGOs, communities, etc.
- Support for implementation of media and communication strategies of the UNCT, in close consultation with UNCT.
- Providing communications support to the UNCT through keeping a concise record of agreed points for action, and ensuring preparation of minutes or summary records for later distribution.
- Providing support to the Security Focal Point in preparation of disaster management reports in the country and providing support to UNCT in contingency planning.
- Development of partnerships with IFI’s, government institutions, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, private sector, civil society.
- Analysis and research of information on donors, preparation of reports on donors strategies.
- Identification of sources of information related to coordination.
- Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Required skills and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences or related field.
- 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services.
- Hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Knowledge about the UN and RC systems would be an advantage.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages.
- Experience in handling of web based management systems.
- Fluency in English language.
- Fluency in Montenegrin language.
- Nationality of Montenegro.
