Description
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a new 5-year £1.5 billion funding stream to support cutting-edge research which addresses the problems faced by developing countries.
Five Core Areas
- Building effective institutions in conflict-affected and fragile states;
- Migration, mobility and development;
- Dynamics of inequalities;
- Innovation and inclusive economic growth;
- Shocks, security, risks and resilience.
Eligibility
- volume and quality of applications that institutions submit to this competition is important.
- evidence of strong institutional commitment and consider
- capable of maintaining an appropriate level of support across more than one application.
- Research organizations, however, may be part of more than one proposal where they are not the lead organization.
Size of a Grant
ESRC is investing up to £10 million full economic cost (fEC) over five years in research centres that qualify for funding from the Global Challenges Research Fund.
