Background
OSCE Mission in Skopje is looking for Chief, Democratic Governance and Social Cohesion Unit
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall day-to-day functioning of the Unit in accordance with the Human Dimension Strategic Objective and the projected
Outcomes and Outputs in the Unified Budget;
- Contributes to the implementation of Departmental policies and outcomes putting into practice methodologies that will further the reach of the
Unit's interventions.
- Supervises and provides guidance to staff in the Unit across all areas of responsibility under DGSCU;
- Develops and prioritizes field tasks; identifies and analyses trends in the DGSC area and develops strategies for follow-up to ensure
commonality of approach in interventions, compliance with international standards, and the strategic objectives of the HDD and OSCE
commitments;
Required Skills and Competenes
- University education in political sciences, social sciences, international relations, public policy, law or equivalent professional experience
- Work experience in either public administration, relevant international organizations, civic associations (including NGOs), political
parties/affairs, or economic and political development
- Minimum 6 years of relevant, diversified and progressively responsible professional experience including at least 3 years at the management
level relevant to the actual position
- Good knowledge of regional and local political history and developments related to democratic governance, the integration of society and
inter-ethnic relations
- Professional fluency in the English language, both oral and written
