Background

The Programme Analyst is expected to command substantive expertise in democratic governance; to represent UNDP in internal and external settings; and to cultivate relationships with donors, other UN agencies and national partners. The Programme Analyst is also expected to translate UN values into programmatic form. The Programme Analyst is expected to be able to work independently; cope with tight deadlines; and manage multiple initiatives calmly and confidently. Sharing knowledge and collaborating with other office teams are also requirements.

Responsibilities

  - Development and implementation of strategies for democratic governance

  - Design and oversight of projects in the democratic governance portfolio

  - Support to achievement of relevant UNDAF outcomes

  - Forging of strategic partnerships and mobilization of new resources for the programme

  - Provision of top-quality advisory services to national partners and other UNDP and UN units


Required Skills and Experience


  - A Master’s Degree in a field relevant to the position is required, including (but not limited) to Political Science, Public Administration, Business
    Administration or Economics

  - A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, with at least five years of experience strongly preferred, at the national or
    international level in providing development advice and hands-on experience in the design, monitoring (substantive and financial) and

    evaluation of development projects.

  - Language proficiency is required in both written and oral English and Macedonian. Other languages are an advantage.
