Background
Good governance is key to transparent and accountable executive, legislative, judicial and independent institutions. Through its programmes, UNDP fosters partnerships and promotes participation, accountability and effectiveness at all levels. We aim to build effective and capable states that are accountable and transparent, inclusive and responsive by strengthening deterrence, prevention and public awareness on corruption, working closely with enforcement bodies, anti-corruption institutions, independent bodies, civil society and media to reduce systemic risk which derives from weak capacity or malfeasance.
Responsibilities
- Under the overall guidance of the Program Analyst for Good Governance, the Portfolio Intern will be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Provide operational support to the activities under the Good Governance portfolio, including logistic and administrative support to trainings,
workshops, conferences and other events;
- Provide support to research, analyses and studies conducted within the Good Governance portfolio, related to current projects and new
emerging initiatives;
- Collecting inputs from projects within the portfolio to ensure regular and coordinated updating of UNDP’s and partners websites with
relevant portfolio information and knowledge products; support the establishment and update of portfolio knowledge databases;
Required Skills and Experience
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in organizational sciences, economics, law,
political and other social sciences or other relevant fields.
- Knowledge of current legislation and policies related to public finances and related issues.
- Familiarity with web based management systems would be considered an asset
