The 2nd European Energy Conference will take place in Masstricht Exhibition & Congress Centre, NL  from April 17- 20 2012 and will be chaired by Professor Harald Bolt, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany.

Energy is vital to our society and economy. The future European energy system has to be sustainable in terms of environmental and climate impact and also in terms of supply, industrial viability and societal acceptance. A resolution of this dilemma is imperative. Changes will, by necessity, happen on many different time scales from ongoing actions, to beyond 100 years. The second European Energy Conference will take place at a time for strategic decisions.

The Conference will bring together experts from various disciplines and sectors to create a joint vision on the future of energy in Europe. It will foster interdisciplinary cooperation and communication in energy research and contribute to development and innovation in the field.
This symposium is especially supposed to provide a forum for novel and groundbreaking ideas in energy research. Part of it will focus on new materials and processes with potential for a future sustainable energy system in a cross-disciplinary approach.
The conference will provide participants with a view and a vision on how the future of energy in Europe could look like.
It will be the forum to define the role of energy science and research in the transformation process towards the future sustainable European energy system.

The venue:

E2C conference will take place at the Maastricht Exhibition and Conference Centre (MECC). Maastricht is located in the Maas-Rijn Euregion, the heart of Europe and is therefore very easy to reach for all delegates. The conference centre is highly accessible by train, air and car from all major cities. The conference will take place  in the historic city of Maastricht. Maastricht is located in the southern part of the Netherlands in the Dutch province of Limburg, of which it is the capital.
