LIVE WEBINAR/ HOW TO RAISE FUNDS IN “HUMANITARIAN SITUATIONS"

Skip Navigation LinksHome - Item
Deadline: 06-10-2016 Location: Worldwide Back

Background

The number of emergency situations around the world is increasing. When a crisis erupts, or within the context of an ongoing emergency, there are many funding mechanisms that are available. However, it can be difficult to access this funding, due to the system’s complexity and the chaos that ensues in an emergency situation. It can be very difficult to know what is available and from whom. The situation can be particularly difficult for smaller or national NGOs, who may find themselves unable to access funding. However, this shouldn’t defer them from trying, particularly as they may be better placed to respond quickly to the communities needs. This entry-level webinar will help to explain the complexities of the humanitarian funding system and empower NGOs to identify potential sources.

This webinar covers

  - The humanitarian funding landscape: geographic priorities, issues addressed, actors and instruments involved.
  - How to participate: How funding is distributed, channels for accessing funds and the application process.
  - How to prepare prior to a crisis.

Who can participate

This entry-level course is ideally suited to grant writers and project managers who are working in ongoing emergency situations or fragile environments, as well as executive directors/NGO managers who are responsible for grant writing.  It is also suited to those who are interested in working in these contexts and would like to get a head start on understanding the complexity of the humanitarian funding world.
