Background 

 
The objective of EE Project is to introduce and support the implementation of municipal Energy Management Systems (EMS), including Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS), throughout Serbia to increase the EE investments in public buildings and municipal services and to facilitate their more energy efficient operation in general. EE Project is fully in line with the provisions of the Law on Efficient Use of Energy which stipulates establishing of an EMS in Serbian municipalities and therefore will contribute its implementation. EMIS was developed by the UNDP Energy Efficiency Project in Croatia with the purpose of monitoring, analyzing and reporting on energy and water consumption in public buildings. In that respect, EMIS is a powerful tool for energy management, necessary for implementation of the Law.

Responsibilities

  - Collecting general data on selected buildings (MFB[1], UN Building, CCIS[2] etc.) and entering data into EMIS.
  - Collecting data on energy and water consumption in selected buildings (MFB, UN, CCIS etc.) and entering data into EMIS.
 - Analysis of the obtained data (energy and water consumption) and comparing it to the appropriate on-line metering data;
  - Various technical and administrative matters related to Energy Portfolio.

Required Skills and Experience 

  - Enrolled in a graduate school programme related to Mechanical engineering at the HVAC or Thermal Power department (second university
    degree or equivalent, or higher), or have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must start the internship
    within one-year of graduation;
  - Excellent English and Serbian language skills, spoken and written;
  - Computer literate in standard software applications;
  - Demonstrates keen interest in the work of the UN, and of UNDP in particular, and have a personal commitment to UNDP's Statement of
    Purpose and to the ideals of the UN Charter;
