Background 


Under the overall guidance and supervision of the General Director of Social Policies at the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth and the direct supervision of the UN Women National Programme Officer

Responsibilities

  - Desk review of existing reports prepared by the government, independent institutions, international organizations and CSOs on violence
    against women and domestic violence in Albania;
  - Conduct interviews with key informants in government institutions as well as with relevant civil society organizations and shelters for
    survivors of domestic violence;
  - Conduct consultative meetings with groups of interest (to be agreed with MSWY), including the UN Agencies in Albania);
  - Review, analyze and summarize the written information to be provided by the state institutions as well as the independent institutions;

Required Skills and Experience

  - Master’s degree in Law, Human Rights, Gender Equality, International Development(Bachelor’s in Law)
  - At least 10 years of experience as a legal, human rights expert in the areas of gender-based violence, gender discrimination at the national
    and international level
  - Proved experience of writing research reports, legal analyses and assessments;
  - Proved experience of researching women’s rights issues, gender-based violence and domestic violence issues;
  - Proved experience in engaging with international human rights treaty bodies with a focus on women’s rights and gender equality.
  - Previous professional experience with the United Nations is an asset.
  - Fluency in Albanian and English
