Background
The European Union (EU) is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and respect for human rights, including rights of persons belonging to minorities. Human rights and democracy are important areas of EU-cooperation and support and activities in this sector are provided through a number of EC instruments.
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- minimum amount: EUR 250.000
- maximum amount: EUR 400.000.
Eligibility of applicants
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or Georgia
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
have been registered for at least three years at the time of the submission of an application and all applicants (Georgian and non-Georgian) must have at least three years' of
relevant experience in the human rights field covered by this Call for Proposals at the time of the submission of an application.
In addition to the categories referred to in section 2.1.1, the following are however also eligible: non-Georgian NGOs must have at least three years' experience of working in Georgia at the time of the submission of an application.
