The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is considering to engage three Junior professionals for the needs of the Project" Third National Report to the UNFCCC".
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) assists the country to implement project for preparation of the Third National Communication on climate change as a logical continual step towards further implementation of the UNFCCC at national level. Its main objective is preparing a comprehensive report on the climate change related issues. The analysis conducted within the SNC will be upgraded and extended, which will result in preparation of an advanced national report. Furthermore, it will work towards ensuring that climate change issues are not considered as separate to national and local environmental concerns by integrating objectives into national and local strategic planning processes.
Under the direct supervision of the UNFCCC focal point from the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, the incumbents will be engaged to work on the national GHG Inventory and adaptation to climate change.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  - University degree in the fields relevant to the project (Information Technologies, Technology, Energy and Environment, Agriculture).
    Advanced degree shall be an asset.

Previous experience:

   - Previous relevant experience in development and implementation of projects, participation at research studies, analyses, assessments,
     reports in areas relevant for the project.;
   - Previous experience in preparation of GHG inventories, analyses and reports shall be an asset;
   - Strong analytical skills and good communications and interpersonal skills;
   - Ability to work in a team; Familiarity with international negotiations and processes under the UNFCCC;
   - Demonstrated ability in liaising and cooperating with all project stakeholders including government officials, scientific institutions, NGOs
     and private sector;
   - Excellent computer knowledge (MS Office, Internet)

Language Requirements

   - Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonian is required. Knowledge of Albanian language and/or languages of
     other communities shall be considered an asset.

Remark:

The Junior Project Experts will be contracted through an Agency for Temporary Workers.
