The State of Bosnia and Herzegovina/Republic of Srpska has applied for a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a project comprising construction of Banja Luka-Doboj Motorway (Prnjavor-Doboj section), to provide connection to Banja Luka-Gradiska Motorway which is under construction, and planned Motorway on Corridor Vc. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost equivalent to EUR 180 million, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
- Construction of 36,612 km of new Motorway including all related local roads (22,627 km);
- Consulting services for works supervision;
Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2011.
The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country.
