Background:
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. Volunteerism can transform the pace and nature of development and it benefits both society at large and the individual volunteer. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for volunteerism globally, encouraging partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming, and mobilizing volunteers.
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst for poverty reduction, and the overall guidance of the UNDP Programme Coordinator for Inclusive Growth, the NUNV Programme Support Associate will support the overall quality assurance function of the programme with respect to three projects:
1- Diaspora Engagement for Economic Development (DEED);
2- Aid for Trade (AFT); and
3- GIM project. The NUNV Programme Support Associate will provide substantive and technical support to the programme in the
implementation of two new projects (DEED and AFT) as well as provide support to the implementation of GIM project.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Master’s degree in social sciences (preferably in Economics, International Development, or Business Administration) and minimum two (2)
years of relevant work experience in a management advisory setting; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (preferably in Economics, International Development, or Business Administration) and minimum three
years of relevant work experience in a management advisory setting;
• Hands-on experience in supporting and monitoring development projects is considered to be a prerequisite;
• Previous experience as a volunteer at local, national or international levels is a distinct advantage
Living Conditions:
UNDP Kosovo Office is located in Pristina, national UN volunteer should be able to commute to respective office by own (no cost coverage for transportations)
Conditions of Service:
A six monthly contract (with possibility of extension); monthly volunteer living allowance (VLA) intended to cover housing, basic needs and utilities, equivalent to 350 Euro, life, health, and permanent disability insurance; resettlement allowance for satisfactory service. .
Starting Date : 2 April 2012
Duration of Contract : 6 months with possibility of extension
