A study visit is a short stay of three to five days in a host country for a group of 10 to 15 European education and vocational training specialists and decision-makers. A study visit includes presentations and on-site visits to ministries, educational and training institutions, training sites, etc. The visits provide a forum for discussion, exchange and learning on themes of common interest and on European and national priorities.
The Study Visits Programme is part of the EU’s lifelong learning programme 2007-13 (LLP). The programme is coordinated at national level by the national agencies located in all participating countries which award the grants to the participants. Cedefop coordinates the programme at European level for the European Commission since the 1 January 2008.
Applications are now being accepted for study visits for educational and vocational training specialist and decision-makers for visits to be held between September 2012 and February 2013.
Eligibility
The Study visits programme is open to education and vocational training specialists and decision-makers. You are eligible if:
- you are a national of or work or live in one of the countries participating in the LLP programme, namely the 27 EU Member States,
Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Croatia;
- you belong to any of the target groups described in article 18 of the programme announcement
- you never participated in a study visit or your last participation in a study visit was before September 2010;
- you have good command of the working language(s) of your chosen study visits.
As a learning professional, by taking part in a study visit you will be able to:
• exchange expertise with other learning professionals from across Europe;
• establish important new contacts at European level;
• learn about the latest trends in education and training systems in other European countries; and
• bring back home the insight and knowledge you acquired to disseminate it.
All education and vocational training specialists and decision-makers can apply for a European study visit grant.
